She covered sports for some of the biggest media outlets across the United States. She spent almost a decade reporting on the sport for The Washington Post, including tennis, football and basketball. Nichols, who earned two Emmy Awards during her nine-year stint with ESPN and appeared on the most watched shows such as NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, changed to ESPN following 2004. In addition, Nichols was a sideline journalist for the Monday Night Football broadcasts. Following her departure from ABC, her following stop was CNN as well as Turner Sports. Unguarded was a program that she produced and hosted, aired each week on CNN International. A billion viewers viewed the show across the globe. Nichols worked at TNT as a broadcaster and reporter on NBA games, including playoffs, regular season and All Star broadcasts. In addition to covering for TBS as well, she was also a reporter for golf and baseball broadcasts as well as Final Four on CBS. It was only the second occasion in the 42-year history of TBS that a woman was nominated out of more than 200 nominations.
